Madame Tussauds opens its first wax museum in the Arab world in Dubai.

The company that manages the famous London wax museum Madame Tussauds opened in October 2021 its first exhibition in the Arab world in Dubai.

Madame Tussauds, the famous London museum that has been exhibiting 250 celebrity wax statues for nearly two centuries, attracting millions of visitors each year, will open its first location in the Arab world, adding to those already operating in the United States and other countries in Europe and Asia.

The new location will feature 60 statues of “global stars,” including 16 from the Middle East region, including Lebanese pop singers Nancy Ajram and Maya Diab, but also Egyptians Ahmed Fahmi, Hassan El Shafei announced Merlin Entertainments, the company that manages the Madame Tussauds museum operations. You will also see stars like Justin Bieber, Cara Delevingne, Victoria Beckham, Vin Diesel, Lewis Hamilton and a part on Bollywood.

The emirate of Dubai, a member of the United Arab Emirates federation, has the most diversified economy in the Gulf, with a strong emphasis on tourism and the leisure industry. It was one of the first tourist destinations to open its doors to international visitors in July 2020, in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic that has crippled the industry worldwide.

The city-state, known for its gigantic buildings and artificial islands, is expecting a massive influx of tourists starting in October for the World Expo.
